Integrated Canine Entry (ICE)™
Our Integrated Canine Entry (ICE)™ course is designed to provide handlers with the knowledge and understanding on how to best utilize a canine to safely enter and clear structures while maintaining close quarters principals and tactics. These close quarters tactics are those that are practiced by some of the most elite combat teams in the world. With patrol officers being trained in close quarters tactics, it is essential for handlers to train within a similar system to ensure everyone understands each other’s responsibilities. Integrated Canine Entry (ICE)™ raises the standard on how canines should be utilized on a patrol level, and bridges the gap between a routine building search and a SWAT team approach. Integrated Canine Entry (ICE)™ allows us to maximize patrol resources while operating at the highest degree of efficiency. This course will include the steps necessary to properly condition your canine, multiple scenarios to understand threat prioritization, and live demonstrations.

Criminal Apprehension
Our criminal apprehension program is designed to assist K9 teams develop the skills necessary in locating and securing suspects as quickly and as safely as possible. We use a combination of training techniques to prepare K9 teams for real world scenarios and engagements; this includes recalls, controlled takedowns, simulated gunfire, handler protection drills, and scenario-based training. This course will expose K9 teams to situations in which they’ve likely never trained in before, thoroughly testing both the handler and the K9 and encouraging top performance.

Tracking Programs
Our tracking programs are designed to assist handlers on creating a solid foundation with an emphasis on scent discrimination and tactics. With a proper introduction and a clear objective, your K9 will be conditioned to remain obedient to human odor in even the most challenging environments. At the end of this program, the handler will be able to properly read their K9, identify environmental influences, have a plan to acquire/require target odor, become proficient in visual manhunting skills, and have the knowledge on how to structure their training program to continue to build upon this particular skill set. We will tailor this tracking program to remain compliant with whichever certification your agency chooses.

Decoy Development
Our decoy development program will provide each student the working knowledge and ability to effectively maximize the genetic potential for each K9 team. Students will become knowledgeable on decoy technique, proper use of equipment, responsibilities of the decoy, recognizing/understanding drives, identifying desired vs undesired behavior, skill-building, problem solving, civil engagement, implementing scenario-based training, and safety consideration to reduce the risk of injury to decoy and K9’s. This is a physically demanding class and upon completion, each student will have the knowledge and would have demonstrated proficiency in their ability to maximize their role as a decoy.

E-Collar
We offer an e-collar training course for handlers that want to maximize communication and workability of their K9. The e-collar is one of the most misused pieces of equipment that the industry has with potentially irreversible consequences. This course will provide a clear blueprint for handlers on how to maximize e-collar use, how to classically condition a positive association with the collar, educate on the benefits of charging the stimulation for activation to achieve the desired behavior, and when to effectively implement aversive corrections. This course is an extremely valuable program for any handler who utilizes an e-collar.

Policy Review
We understand the importance of staying up to date with the latest case law that governs the use of patrol K9s in the United States. That's why we offer agency policy review services to help departments ensure that their policies are in line with the latest legal requirements and best practices pertaining to industry standard.
Our team of experienced trainers are partnered with legal experts that can assist departments review their current policies and procedures related to K9s, including use of force, search and seizure, and other critical areas. We will conduct a thorough review of case law and other legal resources to identify any potential gaps or areas where policies may need to be updated or revised.
Once we have completed our review, we will provide departments with detailed recommendations for policy changes, or with updates that can help ensure compliance with current legal requirements and best practices. We will also work closely with departments to implement any necessary changes and provide ongoing training and support to help ensure that policies are being followed effectively.

Our training programs are designed to help handlers and their K9s exceed the standards required for certification, ensuring that they are fully prepared to showcase their duties effectively in the field. Although certifications will vary across the country, if you choose Proven K9 for certification preparation, you know that you’ll have an entire team solely dedicated to the success and completion of whichever certification your agency requires.
